Care & Maintenance Instructions
Operating Shutters
- Wide shutter panels may require assistance when closing — lift the panel into the frame gently. This is not a fault, but a result of shutter weight.
- Always ensure louvres are fully closed before stacking bifolds or sliding panels to prevent damage.
- Do not slam panels shut.
- Use both hands to open louvres to prevent stress damage around tilt rod screw points.
- To close louvres: press the edge and sweep upward. Some play is normal in clearview models.
- Access window locks by opening panels — not between louvres — to avoid scratching paintwork with jewellery or watches.
Cleaning Shutters
- Use a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid harsh or abrasive cleaners.
- Wood shutters should not be exposed to moisture. Use a slightly damp cloth for spot cleaning.
- Aluminium and PVC shutters can be cleaned with mild detergent and water, then dried thoroughly.
- Products like Chux Magic Eraser, car polish, or even toothpaste can be used to remove light marks.
Caring for Curtains & Blinds
- Vacuum curtain fabrics gently or give them a light shake depending on fabric delicacy.
- Vacuum the tops of curtain tracks regularly for smooth operation.
- Refer to the fabric manufacturer’s website for washing/drying instructions.
- Spot-clean blinds with a dry sponge or mild detergent and warm water. Let them dry fully before rolling up.
